Social media encompasses various online platforms that facilitate direct interaction between users, allowing them to share information, ideas, and opinions. These platforms include both mainstream sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube, which generally have moderation policies, and non-mainstream sites like Bitchute, 4chan, and Reddit, which may have less stringent moderation and can expose users to extremist material.
Acceptable Use

My Tutor Studio staff and tutors should be aware that content posted on social media is not private. Even with privacy settings, there is potential for content to be shared beyond the intended audience. Therefore, staff and tutors must maintain professionalism and respect in their social media interactions.

Staff and tutors must not post content on social media that:

  • Is confidential to My Tutor Studio or its staff
  • Constitutes bullying
  • Involves unlawful discrimination, harassment, or victimization
  • Damages the reputation of My Tutor Studio
  • Contains lewd, sexually explicit, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate or offensive comments, images, or videos
  • Undermines the reputation of any educational institutions or individuals associated with My Tutor Studio
  • Is defamatory or knowingly false
  • Violates copyright laws
  • Is otherwise illegal

Professional and Social Boundaries:

  • Staff and tutors should not accept or send 'friend' requests from students or former students under the age of 18, or from parents, on personal social media accounts such as Facebook. Communication with parents should be conducted through the My Tutor Studio platform.

Reporting and Investigation:

  • Any content or online activity that raises safeguarding concerns must be reported to the My Tutor Studio safeguarding team through our online case management system.

  • Following a report of inappropriate social media use, My Tutor Studio will investigate the issue. This may result in removal from the platform or other disciplinary actions.
