1. Be Prepared: Always review the lesson material beforehand from our shared communication platform. Having a clear plan will make your sessions more effective.

2. Create a Positive Environment: Ensure your tutoring space is quiet and free from distractions. A positive and calm setting helps students focus better.

3. Be Patient and Encouraging: Each student learns at their own pace. Celebrate their progress, no matter how small, to boost their confidence.

4. Engage Actively: Ask questions and encourage students to participate. Interactive lessons are more memorable.

5. Provide Clear Explanations: Break down complicated ideas into simple steps. Make sure students understand each part before moving on.

6. Follow Up: As a tutor, you are always required to write an assessment or feedback for each session so that our support team, parents and students can stay upto date. If students request any practice worksheet, you can post it in the communication platform during this time period. You can check witht the student if he/she prefers to have any additional homework or practice problems to reinforce learning. Review these in the next session to track progress.

All MyTutor sessions are recorded for safeguarding purposes, as well as to give students a useful resource for revision which they can go back to. Be mindful that the recording starts when either of you arrives in the lesson space.
